Perusing the classics at a Barnes & Nobles recently, my eyes settled upon Henry David Thoreau’s Civil Disobedience, that minor political treatise from post revolutionary America. I don’t think I have read this since my political phlosophy class in college, better than 20 years ago. There are some strong hints of caution and wisdom in Thoreau’s words. Perhaps it is time we contemplate them once more.
