NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — Newt Gingrich’s economic plan would do a lot of things. But reducing the debt and balancing the federal budget aren’t among them.

Same goes for Rick Santorum’s and Mitt Romney’s economic plans.

Indeed, a preliminary analysis by the independent Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget released Thursday estimates that the three candidates’ plans could add between $250 billion and $7 trillion of debt over the next nine years.

Republicans blocked a measure in the U.S. House of Representatives Thursday that would have reauthorized extended unemployment insurance for an additional three months, clearing the way for benefits to lapse if they are not reauthorized by Nov. 30.

The choices are grim for American voters in general, and Pennsylvania voters in particular, in the 2010 general election. Voting for either the Democratic Party candidate or the Republican Party candidate assuredly advances the demise, the destruction, of the United States of America: the nation, the government, the economy, and its people, especially the working and middle classes.
