Those who help the unemployed find new jobs may find themselves unemployed very soon

Since 1983, employees of Lancaster Employment & Training Agency have been helping out-of-work Lancaster County residents find jobs.

Come July 1, the 36 current LETA employees could need help finding jobs for themselves, alongside the unemployed 1,200 they assist each week.

The executive committee of Lancaster County Workforce Investment Board on Tuesday voted to recommend the county commissioners award contracts to two companies for administering employment assistance programs here.
